Runners - JLP Election Team

Key Responsibilities

As a JLP Runner, you are the critical link between campaign operations and voters. Your primary role is to identify and mobilize potential JLP supporters to polling stations on election day.

Coordination Note: You will work closely with Drivers to ensure identified voters reach their polling stations efficiently.
  • Study and master your assigned 1/20 voter list
  • Engage potential voters before election day to build trust
  • Identify and document JLP-sympathetic voters
  • Coordinate transportation logistics with Drivers
  • Ensure maximum voter turnout in your assigned area

Operational Process

Pre-Election Preparation

  • Thoroughly study your 1/20 list (20 households per Runner)
  • Conduct door-to-door visits to introduce yourself
  • Identify and note strong JLP supporters
  • Map out most efficient routes for election day

Voter Engagement

  • Build relationships with potential voters
  • Address any concerns or questions
  • Confirm polling locations for each voter
  • Provide election day information

Election Day Operations

  • Verify voter turnout against your list
  • Quickly identify and follow up with missing voters
  • Coordinate with Drivers for pickups
  • Update Supervisor on turnout progress

Working With Drivers

Effective Runner-Driver coordination is essential for success:

  • Establish clear communication channels with assigned Drivers
  • Provide Drivers with precise pickup locations and times
  • Prioritize elderly and disabled voters for transportation
  • Share real-time updates on voter turnout progress
  • Coordinate with multiple Drivers if needed for high-demand periods
